MANZANITA RENDEZVOUS
Mazanita RDV has probably become one of my favorites. Located in beautiful Santa Isabelle, the rendezvous is held on a private ranch that has rolling hills, tall grass and huge oaks. This is a primitive rendezvous but does have a tin teepee area available. There is plenty of firewood and the club brings in a water buffalo and hooters.
Lasting 10 days, this rondy provides many different competitions for all and prizes are awarded in trader bucks daily with aggregate prizes on the finale. Offering a rifle and pistol trailwalk, silhouettes, and chunk gun shoot for the black powder portion. They also have a hawk, knife (scored seperately as you throw 3 times per target and there are 14 of them) and archery shoot that runs the course of an occasional stream. The archery is awesome! Your shoot 3 arrows per 3-D animals up, down, over the creek, up a hill, under a doe, etc. What fun! They also have other contests thrown in. All prizes are award seperately for women, men, juniors, sub juniors and pee-wees (no throwing the women with the men on hawk and knife which is nice). Oh and did I forget to mention the assortment of great food and drink on pot luck night.
We ran into several of our club members and others from Arizona who agreed with me that this is a great rendezvous!
PETER LEBEC RENDEZVOUS
What a nice bunch of people and this is the only gun club that I have met that has their own range and devoted it to "BLACK POWDER ONLY"!
The rendezvous has been going for 37 years. With last year off, they are back stronger than ever. The minute we arrived we were welcomed like part of the long last family. They gave us a nice trade spot that even had running water. After that we were invited to come down and eat and not worry about a thing. We had a great time and plan on going back next year.
Their range is all set up with targets following the mountainside. There are places to sit and load along the way with plenty of pit toilets on site. They also have a super clubhouse that provided shelter for good food, entertainment, contests and did I say FOOD! Spagetti night, tri tip night, pot luck night and burgers, fry bread and other goodies throughout the day.
Most people brought in their tin teepees to camp in and the club has plenty of room for more, plus areas for tent camping as well. They have a cartridge shoot and one of the competors by the name of Coe (who is pretty damn good in the competion area) let me try out his cartridge rifle. It was awesome! Might have to get me one.
There was a canon shoot, candle shoot and costume contest as well. Plenty to do for the whole family. They try to prize out everyone who shot and gave all seperate catagories to women, men, and juniors.
There was a raffle drawing for a rifle, elk hide, and other misc. items, and a 50/50 drawing was held daily to build funds for the club.
This club is re-building and we strongly encourage anyone looking for a new shoot, to attend this one as you will be gauranteed a good time, meet lots of new friends, and have fond memories for years to come.
Special thanks to Steve P. who never gave up on us coming.

PIT RIVER RENDEZVOUS
Nessled in th pines on private property and competing against over 200 shooters, this rendezvous has a trail walk that I heard called over and over "Depression Trail". Some off the shots on the trail were over 150 yards uphill on the rock face canyon. Included in the trail walk was a spear throw, and shooting your tie breaker from the outhouse. At the end for an extra point, you needed to start a fire with flint and steel. They also offered a pistol walk but I never made it over to see what they had.
They also offered a hawk and knife trail, but no primitive archery :( . There was a cannn shoot and probably 8 or 9 cannons competing. That was pretty cool.
This is what I would call a shoot. There were more tin teepee's than primitive camps...but there was still plenty of rowdy camp going on!
PIUTE RENEGADES REDEZVOUS
Furs off to this bunch of nice folks and...this club even offers archery. Parry and I can't figure out why the northern rendezvous do not offer archery. Too bad because they miss out on a lot of fun. This club was able to pick up 20 3-D targets that they now own. Next year they are even thinking of putting the archery in the overall. Good for them.
Piute Renegades holds this gem of an event on private property. It is heavilly covered in pines and sits at the back of a lake. Ooh la la.
Offering an awesome pisol, rifle, archery, knife and hawk...it is sure to have something for the entire family. They offer side matches as well.
Something that should be noted...this club really goes above and beyond for the youth. They have a special drawing for a youth rifel (from the register youth), a bow drawing and several other drawings. They do this all out of the club money and the youth just have to be registered. Now that is special as we know the kids are our future in rendezvous. YOU GO PIUTTE RENEGADES!!!!!!!!!!
